School Visits

Field visits to the local sandy or rocky shore provide fantastic opportunities for cross-curricular topic work, offer the chance to do something different and inspiring and make available great opportunities for multi-sensory learning.
A shore visit can also inspire the children with their learning by providing opportunities to participate in ‘real science’ projects where they can contribute their findings to national marine life data collection schemes and enhances their sense of place and pride in their local area.

Each year pupils from primary schools adjacent to the Cardigan Bay SAC visit their local beach or shore to explore, discover and enjoy the wildlife that can be found there.
Ysgol Cei Newydd, Ysgol Bro Sion Cwilt, Ysgol Aberaeron, Ysgol Craig-Yr-Wylfa and Ysgol Aberporth all attend sessions on their local shore to enhance their understanding of why Cardigan Bay is such a special place.
